Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressed a ceremony at the University of Karachi on March 6, 2024, to mark 75 years [1] of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations.

Bhutto Zardari, Chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party, spoke during a conference hosted by the University of Karachi and the Confucius Institute. He described the relationship as a fundamental element of the state's international strategy. "Our friendship with China is a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and a source of mutual prosperity," Bhutto Zardari said.
The ceremony focused on the historical ties and the future of the strategic partnership. Officials from the Confucius Institute and the university emphasized the role of educational and cultural exchange in strengthening these bonds. The Director of the Confucius Institute, Karachi, said the institute was proud to host the historic celebration in partnership with the university.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Li Hui also addressed the gathering. He noted that the long-term cooperation between the two countries has yielded practical results for the populations of both nations. "Seventy-five years of cooperation have brought tangible benefits to both our peoples, and we look forward to deeper ties in the years ahead," Li said.
