Hermanos Gutiérrez have announced a new album titled "Los Ojos del Cóndor," scheduled for release on Sept. 25, 2026 [1].
The project marks a significant shift toward the brothers' ancestral heritage, moving their sonic exploration toward the specific cultural landscapes of South America.
Estevan and Alejandro Gutiérrez performed the title track during an appearance at the PBS NewsHour Canvas studio. The brothers said they are turning their gaze homeward, drawing on the traditions of their family’s roots in Ecuador and Peru.
The upcoming record consists of 10 tracks [1]. The musicians recorded the project at Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville, Tennessee. According to reports, the inspiration for the work is tied to family history, including a photograph approximately 50 years old [3].
Estevan Gutiérrez said the album is a "love letter to South America" [2]. The duo aims to pay tribute to their heritage through these compositions, a process that connects their modern musical approach with the traditions of the Andes.
By centering the album on their Ecuadorian and Peruvian lineage, the brothers are expanding the thematic scope of their discography. The performance of "Los Ojos del Cóndor" serves as the first public introduction to the sound of the new collection.
“"This is a love letter to South America."”
This album represents a pivot from general atmospheric exploration to a specific genealogical study. By integrating family archives and ancestral geography into their music, Hermanos Gutiérrez are transitioning from creating 'imagined' landscapes to documenting a tangible cultural identity.
