A cyclist from Kerala began a one-wheel journey toward Nepal on Aug. 18 [1] to spread an anti-drug message.
The ride aims to raise awareness and discourage drug abuse among young people by utilizing a physically demanding and unusual mode of transport to draw public attention.
Identified as Saneed in some reports and A Abi in others, the rider started the journey in Kannur, Kerala [2]. The route is planned to lead toward Everest Base Camp in Nepal [1]. As part of the journey across the state, the rider also passed through the Alappuzha district [2].
Traveling on a unicycle requires significant balance and endurance. The rider is using this visibility to promote a lifestyle free from narcotics, a cause that has gained traction across various Indian states facing youth addiction challenges.
While the rider is described as a young boy in some accounts, other reports identify him as a cyclist from Kannur [2]. The departure date of Aug. 18 [1] marks the official launch of the expedition toward the Himalayas.
The journey will cross multiple state borders and varied terrain before reaching the final destination in Nepal. By choosing a one-wheel cycle, the rider intends to symbolize the balance and strength required to resist drug use.

This expedition reflects a growing trend of using extreme physical challenges and 'stunt' journeys to address public health crises in India. By linking a high-visibility athletic feat with an anti-drug campaign, the rider leverages social media and public curiosity to reach a demographic that often ignores traditional government health warnings.
