Education Minister Nara Lokesh said Friday that 91.55% [1] of candidates qualified in the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (APPGCET) 2026.
These results determine the eligibility of thousands of students seeking admission into postgraduate programs, serving as a critical gateway for higher education in the region.
According to official data, 19,118 candidates registered for the examination [7]. Of those, 16,406 candidates appeared for the tests [2], resulting in 15,020 individuals qualifying for the next stage of admissions [3].
The examination was conducted from May 8 to May 11, 2026 [8], and took place across 23 centers throughout Andhra Pradesh [9].
Gender-based performance metrics revealed a slight variance in success rates. Women achieved a pass rate of 92.44% [4], while men recorded a pass rate of 90.07% [5].
Specific academic disciplines showed even higher levels of success. The education discipline recorded the highest performance, with a pass rate of 99.58% [6]. This figure represents the most significant success rate among the reported academic categories.
The announcement provides the necessary qualification status for candidates to proceed with their postgraduate academic planning, a process that depends on these standardized scores.
“15,020 candidates qualified for postgraduate admissions across the state.”
The high overall pass rate, particularly the near-total success in the education discipline, suggests a strong alignment between candidate preparation and the 2026 exam standards. With over 15,000 students qualifying, the state's postgraduate institutions will likely face significant competition for available seats during the upcoming admission cycle.
