Japanese singer-songwriter Fujii Fumiya said his only current aspiration is to remain healthy and continue performing on stage.

Fujii's reflections come as he reaches a milestone age and completes an extensive national tour, offering a glimpse into the mindset of a veteran artist facing the physical realities of aging.

Speaking during a press conference held on July 12 and 13, Fujii addressed his outlook after celebrating his 64th birthday [1] on July 11 [1]. The event followed the final show of his "F-UTA-TABI" tour, which spanned 47 prefectures [2].

When asked about his goals for the future, Fujii said he no longer possesses big dreams or new ambitions. He said the idea of pursuing major new goals is "troublesome" at this stage of his life [3].

"At this age, there is nothing but health," Fujii said [3].

Fujii linked his desire for health directly to his ability to perform. He noted the fragility of the human voice, mentioning that vocal cords are only 1.5 to 2 centimeters long [3]. Because of this physical limitation, he said that being able to sing on stage in good health is the only thing he requires [3].

He further emphasized his contentment with his current state, saying that he does not have any specific things he wants, or new dreams to chase [3].
