NDTV World is launching a dialogue series in Nepal to discuss diplomacy, commerce, security, infrastructure, tourism, and regional soft power.
The initiative aims to explore ideas and opportunities that drive cooperation across borders in the region. By convening high-level government officials and cultural icons, the series seeks to highlight the intersection of political stability and economic growth.
The series, referred to as both "The Nepal Dialogue" and "NDTV Anviksha: Ideas Across Borders," is scheduled to launch on Aug. 27, 2024 [1]. The event will feature a diverse group of participants to ensure a broad perspective on regional challenges.
Among the confirmed participants are Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal and Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle. Their involvement suggests a focus on the official state mechanisms of trade and international relations. The dialogue will also include voices from the academic and artistic communities, such as Dr. Shashi Dharu, Dr. Ram Madhav, and actress Manisha Koirala.
The discussions will center on how Nepal can leverage its unique position to enhance regional connectivity. Participants will examine the role of tourism as a primary driver for economic development and the necessity of secure infrastructure to support that growth.
This gathering represents a coordinated effort to bring distinguished voices together in a single forum. The series intends to move beyond traditional diplomatic channels by integrating the perspectives of cultural influencers and financial experts to shape the regional narrative.
“The series seeks to highlight the intersection of political stability and economic growth.”
The inclusion of both the finance and foreign ministers alongside cultural figures indicates a holistic approach to soft power. By framing diplomacy through the lens of tourism and infrastructure, the dialogue emphasizes the practical economic benefits of regional cooperation over purely political alignment.
