Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced 66 development projects worth 569 crore [3] during a visit to Sambhal on Sunday.
The announcement combines large-scale infrastructure investment with a firm stance on cultural heritage, signaling the administration's intent to prioritize traditional values in local governance.
During the event, Adityanath focused on the implementation of legal and cultural directives. He said that the orders issued at the Harihar temple would prevail in Sambhal. The Chief Minister said, "Now in Sambhal, the same will happen as the order of Harihar temple. Now the demolition by any descendant of Babur will not work."
Beyond the temple directives, the visit centered on regional growth. The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 66 projects [3] with a total valuation of 569 crore [3]. These initiatives are intended to modernize the district's infrastructure, and improve public services.
Adityanath also emphasized the necessity of cultural integration for all residents of the country. He said, "Every person living in India must respect the culture and traditions here."
The Chief Minister used the platform to target the Samajwadi Party and Congress, linking his current policy directives to a broader effort to protect Indian heritage. He said that respect for local traditions is a non-negotiable requirement for those living within the state.
“"Now in Sambhal, the same will happen as the order of Harihar temple."”
The alignment of significant financial investment with rhetoric regarding temple orders suggests a governance strategy that blends economic development with cultural nationalism. By referencing the Harihar temple and the descendants of Babur, the administration is framing local infrastructure growth within a larger ideological struggle over historical and religious identity in Uttar Pradesh.
