TT Games released an official gameplay trailer showcasing the gadgets available in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on Wednesday.
The footage highlights the technical direction of the title and provides a first look at the combat mechanics for players awaiting the next generation of Nintendo hardware.
The Gadgets Gameplay Trailer focuses on the utility of Batman's equipment. Featured tools include the Batclaw, the Concussive Batarang, and the Bat Swarm. These items are designed to interact with the environment and manage enemy crowds during combat sequences.
The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. However, the version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled to launch on Sept. 18 [1].
Unlike previous entries in the LEGO series that featured massive rosters, this title focuses on a smaller group of heroes. The game includes seven playable characters [2]. This decision was made to ensure characters are more differentiated and possess deeper gameplay mechanics.
TT Games developed the title to emphasize a more refined experience over the sheer volume of characters seen in earlier LEGO titles. The trailer serves as a promotional tool to demonstrate these features before the September release window [1].
“The game includes seven playable characters”
The shift toward a smaller, more specialized character roster suggests TT Games is pivoting away from the 'collect-a-thon' model of previous LEGO games in favor of deeper mechanical complexity. Furthermore, the specific release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version provides a concrete window for the availability of Nintendo's next-generation hardware.
