Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said society must establish new social norms to navigate the rapid integration of artificial intelligence into daily life.
This push for cultural adaptation comes as AI continues to disrupt labor markets and communication, making the development of shared behavioral standards critical for stability.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with AP reporter Josh Boak, Huang said the psychological and societal friction caused by the technology. He encouraged the public to engage more deeply with AI tools, suggesting that active participation is the best way to quell fears about the future of technology.
The conversation took place at a new Coherent factory in Sherman, Texas. The location served as a backdrop for the announcement of a $2 billion [1] partnership between Nvidia and Coherent.
This investment is specifically aimed at boosting U.S. manufacturing capabilities for AI infrastructure. By strengthening the domestic supply chain, Huang said the collaboration seeks to ensure the hardware necessary for AI development is produced within the country.
Beyond the economic impact, Huang said the need for a shift in how humans interact with machines. He argued that as AI becomes a ubiquitous part of the professional and personal landscape, the old rules of engagement no longer apply. The CEO said that the transition requires an open dialogue about what is acceptable, and how the technology should be utilized in a social context.
Throughout the interview, Huang said the intersection of industrial growth and societal readiness. He framed the $2 billion [1] investment not just as a corporate expansion, but as a foundational step in preparing the U.S. for a future where AI is integrated into every sector of the economy.
“Society must establish new social norms to navigate the rapid integration of artificial intelligence.”
Nvidia's dual focus on infrastructure investment and social engineering suggests the company views cultural resistance as a primary bottleneck to AI adoption. By coupling a massive domestic manufacturing play with a call for new social norms, Huang is attempting to secure both the physical supply chain and the social license required for AI to scale globally.
