Elvish Yadav, Tejasswi Prakash, and Aarush Bhola are serving as the three [1] mentors for the fifth [1] season of the reality competition Playground.
The show's dynamics center on the personal relationships and professional rivalries of the mentors, who guide competing teams of contestants. Because the mentors are high-profile personalities, their on-screen chemistry and disagreements drive significant viewer interest in the series.
Filmed in Mumbai, Maharashtra, the production focuses on how the mentors utilize their experience to lead their respective teams. Elvish Yadav enters the role as a two-time [1] champion of the show. In a statement to Bollywood Hungama, Yadav said, "I am excited to return as a mentor for Playground Season 5."
While the mentors aim to support their contestants, tensions have surfaced regarding the fairness of the competition. Yadav has specifically questioned the objectivity of his co-mentor, Tejasswi Prakash. "She is being biased, that's what I think," Yadav said.
Despite these frictions, other mentors suggest that personal bonds enhance the show's entertainment value. Aarush Bhola said that the competition is improved by the existing relationships between the panel members. "We have become good friends over the years, and that makes the competition more fun," Bhola said.
The season premiered in August 2024, following a trailer release earlier that month. The format pairs each mentor with a team, placing their reputations on the line as they attempt to navigate the rivalry inherent in the competition's structure.

The inclusion of a former two-time champion as a mentor suggests the show is leveraging established internal lore to attract returning viewers. By blending genuine friendships with staged or organic competition, the production creates a narrative tension that shifts the focus from the contestants' skills to the mentors' interpersonal conflicts.
