Avino Silver & Gold Mines Ltd. reported a net income of $10.9 million [1] for the second quarter of 2026.
The results highlight a significant year-over-year recovery for the Vancouver-based company, though a shift in production mix suggests a strategic pivot in its mining operations.
Company officials said the financial results on Aug. 12 during an earnings-call webcast and teleconference. The reported net income represents a 281% increase compared to the second quarter of 2025 [3].
Diluted earnings per share (EPS) for the period were $0.06 [2], which marks a 200% increase over the same period last year [4]. However, this figure fell short of the $0.10 consensus EPS estimate analysts had projected before the release [5].
The company's production trends showed a shift in output during the quarter. Avino reported lower copper and silver output, while gold production was slightly higher [6]. This change in the production mix comes as the company seeks to strengthen its U.S. disclosure and provide updated outlooks to its investors.
During the presentation, the operator turned the conference over to Jennifer North, the head of investor relations, to lead the discussion on the quarterly performance.
“Net income represents a 281% increase compared to the second quarter of 2025”
The substantial growth in net income suggests improved operational efficiency or favorable market pricing for gold, which offset the decline in copper and silver output. While the company is growing relative to its own past performance, the miss on consensus EPS estimates indicates that market expectations for the company's recovery were more aggressive than the actual results.
