Bajaj Auto has launched updated versions of its Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 motorcycles in India [1, 2].
The refresh targets the highly competitive Indian motorcycle segment by introducing modern technology to two of the brand's most established entry-level models. By updating the styling and adding digital features, Bajaj aims to attract younger riders who prioritize connectivity and tech-integration.
The new Pulsar 125 enters the market with a starting price of ₹92,990 [1]. The larger Pulsar 150 is priced starting at ₹1.15 lakh [1]. Both motorcycles were scheduled for release on Aug. 24, 2024 [2].
Styling updates are central to the new release, accompanying a suite of upgraded electronics. The motorcycles now feature TFT displays and integrated navigation systems to improve the rider experience. Additionally, Bajaj has introduced ride modes and crawl technology, a feature typically reserved for higher-end machinery, to assist with low-speed maneuvers.
These updates represent a shift toward digitizing the budget-friendly commuter segment. The inclusion of navigation and TFT screens addresses a growing demand for smartphone-like functionality on two-wheelers.
Bajaj has not provided further specifics on the engine tuning for these models, but the focus remains on the refreshed aesthetic and the addition of rider-assist technologies [1, 3].
“Prices start at ₹92,990 for the new Pulsar 125.”
The integration of crawl technology and TFT navigation into the 125cc and 150cc segments indicates a 'trickle-down' effect of premium features. As competition intensifies in the Indian market, manufacturers can no longer rely on engine reliability alone; they must now compete on the digital interface and rider-assist tools to maintain market share among Gen Z and millennial consumers.
