Supermodel Cindy Crawford said she has a personal pact not to undergo a facelift [1].
Crawford's stance on aging naturally comes at a time when cosmetic surgery is widely normalized among public figures. Her decision highlights a personal boundary regarding surgical intervention and the influence of close familial and professional relationships on health choices.
Speaking on the June 5 episode of the Gloss Angeles podcast [2], Crawford, 60 [1], discussed her approach to aging. She said she entered into a formal agreement with a longtime friend to avoid the procedure. "I have a pact with a friend of mine, she's a makeup artist, or was a makeup artist, she's retired now, her name is Sonia Kashuk," Crawford said [3].
Beyond the agreement with Kashuk, Crawford said her husband, Rande Gerber, is against the idea of her having the surgery. She described his reaction as definitive and unwavering. "He's very, very against it," Crawford said [4].
Crawford further detailed the brevity of her husband's stance on the matter. She said Rande's three-word response was: "No, thank you" [5].
While Crawford avoids the facelift, she has previously defended other celebrities who choose plastic surgery. She said the decision to undergo cosmetic procedures is a personal choice, stating that it is a matter of "to each his own" [3].
“"I have a pact with a friend of mine... she's retired now, her name is Sonia Kashuk."”
Crawford's public refusal of a facelift, supported by both a professional peer and her spouse, contrasts with the prevailing industry pressure on women in fashion and entertainment to maintain a youthful appearance through surgical means. By framing the decision as a 'pact,' she elevates the choice from a simple preference to a commitment, potentially influencing the discourse on aging in the public eye.
