Security forces deployed more than 1,000 personnel [1] across Delhi on Saturday to manage a protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).
The demonstration signals growing public frustration with the national education system, specifically regarding examination integrity and administrative management in India.
The protest at Jantar Mantar was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. [3] and run until 5 p.m. [2]. Organizers are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, citing controversies surrounding the CBSE Online School Management (OSM) system, and alleged leaks of the NEET examination paper.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke arrived in the capital at 7:30 a.m. and urged his followers to maintain a non-violent atmosphere. "I have landed in Delhi around 7:30 a.m. and call on supporters to lead the protest with love and peace," Dipke said.
Vijeta Dahiya, a spokesperson for the CJP, said the group expected a few hundred people [4] to participate in the event. Dipke further emphasized the need for a peaceful gathering, saying, "We urge a peaceful protest."
Environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk is also associated with the organizers of the event. Authorities granted permission for the gathering to continue until 5 p.m. [2] on Saturday, June 6, 2026 [5].
“We are expecting 'a few hundred people' to join.”
The mobilization of over 1,000 security personnel for a protest expecting only a few hundred participants suggests a high level of state caution. By linking the NEET paper-leak allegations and CBSE OSM failures to a demand for ministerial resignation, the CJP is attempting to turn administrative grievances into a broader political accountability movement.
