Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), is urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to focus his Independence Day speech on Gen-Z youth.
The request signals an attempt to transition a grassroots protest movement into a formal political dialogue. By targeting the Prime Minister's Red Fort address, Dipke aims to force youth-centered issues into the national policy conversation.
Dipke released a video calling for citizens to join his movement during the August 15, 2024 [2] celebrations. He specifically requested that the Prime Minister detail the steps the government is taking to support the younger generation.
"I request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the Gen-Z youth in his Independence Day speech at the Red Fort," Dipke said.
The initiative follows a period of intense activism. Dipke recently concluded a protest at Jantar Mantar that lasted 37 days [1]. The movement sought to mobilize Gen-Z voters and sustain political momentum after the demonstration ended.
Despite the conclusion of the physical gathering, Dipke said the movement remains active. He noted that he had been diagnosed with typhoid, but said the protests will continue.
"Finally I can sleep after the 37-day protest at Jantar Mantar," Dipke said.
The CJP founder continues to use digital platforms to reach supporters across India. He described the recent activities as only the beginning of a longer process to address the grievances of India's youth.
