Milestone released a challenges overview trailer for Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush during the IGN Live 2026 event on Sunday.
The reveal provides a first look at the gameplay loop and variety of activities available in the open-world title, signaling a push toward more diverse arcade racing experiences.
Michele Caletti, the creative director at Milestone, said the new content was presented through the trailer. The footage outlines four specific challenge types: Daredevil, Tourist, Drift Stunt, and Stuntman. These activities are designed to showcase the high-speed nature of the franchise and the versatility of the game's environments.
The game features a world consisting of four islands [3], each packed with various events and challenges. These environments include city and beach settings where players can engage in the aforementioned stunt modes.
Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush is scheduled for release in September 2026 [2]. The title will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC [1].
This announcement comes as part of the broader IGN Live 2026 showcase, intended to generate excitement and demonstrate the scale of the open-world map before the official launch this autumn.
“The game world contains four islands packed with events and challenges”
The inclusion of the Nintendo Switch 2 alongside current-generation consoles suggests that Milestone is targeting a wide hardware demographic for this title. By focusing on a variety of 'challenge' modes rather than traditional circuit racing, the developers are positioning the game as an activity-driven open-world experience, which aligns with current trends in the arcade racing genre to prioritize exploration and stunt-based progression over strict simulation.
