The application deadline for the Indiramma affordable housing scheme in Hyderabad's Core Urban Region is Monday, Aug. 10 [1].

Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy oversaw the rollout of the program. The government plans to provide a subsidy of Rs 5 lakh per flat [3] to make the units accessible to eligible residents. This effort is part of a larger state goal to establish 100,000 houses [4] under the broader Indiramma scheme.
Demand for the housing has exceeded the available supply. The government intends to build 7,340 Low Income Group (LIG) flats [5] within the Core Urban Region. However, officials said they have already received 35,125 applications [6] for these specific units.
The application process covered 16 constituencies [7] within the Hyderabad limits. Because the number of applicants outweighs the number of available homes, the government will use a lottery system to select the final beneficiaries.
Lottery draws to determine who will receive the flats are scheduled to begin on Aug. 20 [2]. The selection process will determine which of the thousands of applicants will secure one of the limited subsidized units in the urban core.
