Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran will never bow to pressure from the U.S. and Israel during a BRICS foreign ministers' meeting.
The statements signal a defiant posture from Tehran as it leverages its membership in the BRICS bloc to counter Western diplomatic and economic isolation.
Araghchi said the Iranian armed forces are prepared to respond strongly to any foreign aggression. He said there is no military solution related to Iran and said the Iranian people do not submit to threats.
During his remarks, Araghchi said international bullying belongs in the dustbin of history. He positioned Iran as a sovereign state that refuses to be intimidated by external powers, a stance he linked to the historical resolve of the Iranian people.
On the topic of military readiness, Araghchi made a specific claim regarding the nation's weaponry. He said Iran's missile inventory is now at 120% [1] of its capacity.
Araghchi said that while Iran prefers diplomatic resolve, the country remains vigilant. He said any attempt to force the nation into submission through military means would be met with a decisive response.
The foreign minister's address took place within the framework of the BRICS gathering, where he also sought to discuss common threats with other member nations, including Russia.
“"There is no military solution related to Iran."”
By making these claims at a BRICS meeting, Iran is attempting to project strength and strategic autonomy to a global audience. The specific mention of missile capacity suggests a deterrent strategy intended to discourage U.S. or Israeli military action, while the venue underscores Tehran's shift toward non-Western alliances to mitigate the impact of international sanctions.
