A flash flood near the Tibet-Nepal border has left 77 Isha Foundation pilgrims and three volunteers uncontactable [1, 2].

The situation is critical because the group was returning from the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through a remote region where communication infrastructure is limited. The loss of contact with a large group of international travelers complicates rescue efforts and raises immediate safety concerns.

According to Maa Gambhiri, the coordinator of Isha Sacred Walks, the disaster occurred with extreme speed. "Within 10 minutes, the flood struck," Gambhiri said [2]. The flood was caused by heavy rain and river overflow, which knocked out communication systems and stranded the pilgrims [1, 2].

The group was located near the border town of Gyirong in Tibet, China [3]. Meanwhile, the three missing volunteers were positioned in Timure, Nepal [3]. The sudden nature of the overflow disrupted all available lines of contact between the pilgrims and their coordinators.
