John Stamos has publicly praised and shown solidarity with his former Full House co-star Dave Coulier during the actor's battle with two types of cancer.

The public support from Stamos highlights the personal bonds formed during the long-running series and brings awareness to the physical toll of aggressive cancer treatments.

Coulier first disclosed his diagnosis of stage 3 [3] non-Hodgkin lymphoma on Nov. 13, 2023 [5], in an interview with PEOPLE [5]. Shortly after, Stamos used social media to signal his support. On Nov. 18, 2023 [6], Stamos posted a photo to Instagram wearing a bald cap to mirror the hair loss often associated with chemotherapy [2].

"I'll be by your side," Stamos said [1]. He later added, "Going to get through this," in reference to the recovery process [2].

The health challenges for Coulier intensified in early 2024 when he announced a diagnosis of tongue cancer [3]. The combined impact of the illnesses and treatments led to significant physical changes for the actor. Coulier experienced a weight loss of 45 pounds [4] during his recovery process.

In a later update, Coulier addressed the visible changes in his appearance and voice. "I haven't posted in quite a while. The last time I did, some of you said I looked differently and I sound differently," Coulier said [3].

Stamos continued his public support for the actor, who is between 65 [1] and 66 [2] years old, during a red carpet appearance at the "Roast of Kevin Hart" event in Los Angeles [2]. Stamos used the platform to emphasize his commitment to his longtime friend and colleague as he navigates the medical challenges [2].

"I'll be by your side."

The public nature of this support system underscores the visibility of long-term recovery from stage 3 lymphoma and tongue cancer. By sharing the physical realities of treatment, such as hair loss and significant weight loss, Stamos and Coulier provide a rare glimpse into the grueling nature of dual cancer diagnoses for public figures.
