Actor John Stamos said he underwent two nose jobs, including a corrective procedure performed by the same surgeon who operated on Michael Jackson [1].
Stamos is widely known for his roles in "Full House" and "General Hospital." His openness about cosmetic surgery provides a rare look at the pressures facing television stars to maintain specific aesthetic standards throughout their careers.
Speaking on "The Really Good Podcast," Stamos said he had his first nose job in the mid-1980s [1] while he was starring on "General Hospital" [1]. He said the initial results were not satisfactory. "It didn’t look great, so I got it fixed by the same surgeon who did Michael Jackson’s nose," Stamos said [2].
In addition to the two nose surgeries [1], the actor said he has used Botox. However, he said that he has limits regarding how far he will go with cosmetic enhancements to maintain his appearance. "I won’t have a facelift," Stamos said [1].
Stamos was 62 years old at the time of the interview [2]. He said that the second surgery was necessary because the first procedure did not meet his expectations. The actor did not specify the name of the surgeon or the location where the corrective surgery took place.
“"It didn’t look great, so I got it fixed by the same surgeon who did Michael Jackson’s nose."”
Stamos's admission highlights the long-term nature of cosmetic maintenance for public figures. By linking his surgeon to Michael Jackson, he connects his personal aesthetic choices to a well-known history of celebrity plastic surgery, while simultaneously drawing a boundary by refusing more invasive procedures like facelifts.
