EU High Representative Kaja Kallas said NATO unity is vital for maintaining stability and security across the European continent.

This call for cohesion comes as the alliance navigates complex geopolitical tensions and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Kallas said she is emphasizing the necessity of a synchronized front to ensure the effectiveness of collective defense mechanisms.

During a one-on-one interview with TRT World, Kallas focused on the requirement for expanded assistance to Kyiv. She said, "We need more support for Ukraine and recognise Turkey’s strategic importance in the alliance."

The High Representative said Turkey plays a critical role within the NATO framework. This strategic importance is central to the alliance's ability to manage regional security and maintain a bridge between different geopolitical interests.

Beyond her focus on NATO and Ukraine, Kallas has maintained a busy diplomatic schedule this month. Records indicate she visited Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 1 and July 2 [1].
