Arvind Kejriwal, National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), condemned the BJP-led government following the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 exam.
The dispute highlights systemic failures in India's medical entrance examinations, affecting the academic futures of millions of students and fueling political tension between the AAP and the ruling party.
Kejriwal said the integrity of the examination process has been compromised by widespread paper leaks. He said there have been 93 incidents of paper leaks since 2014 [1]. According to Kejriwal, these failures disproportionately affect states ruled by the BJP, and he questioned whether political involvement played a role in the lapses [2].
The AAP leader emphasized the scale of the crisis, saying that approximately six crore students have been affected by these leaks [3]. He urged members of Gen-Z to protest and seek accountability from the government, comparing the need for youth-led action to the uprising in Nepal [4].
The controversy centers on the NEET UG 2026 exam, which was canceled after allegations of leaks surfaced. Kejriwal said the government must address why these patterns persist and ensure that the examination process remains transparent for all candidates [2].
This call for mobilization comes as students across Delhi and other regions express frustration over the instability of the national testing system. The AAP leader said the current situation is an affront to the hard work of students across the country [3].
“93 incidents of paper leaks since 2014”
The recurring failure of the NEET examination system creates a volatile intersection of educational crisis and political opportunism. By framing the issue as a generational struggle and citing a high volume of historical leaks, the AAP is attempting to mobilize youth voters against the BJP's administrative record on public services and education.
