Rep. Mario Frias (PL-SP) denied that Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) held any partnership in the biographical film "Dark Horse" or its production company.
These denials come amid allegations that the senator used the company Vorcaro to finance the production. If proven, such a financial link could raise questions regarding the funding of political figures and their business interests in the entertainment industry.
Frias addressed the accusations on May 13, 2024 [1]. He rejected the notion that any funds from Vorcaro were used to support the film's creation.
"Flávio não tem qualquer sociedade no filme ou na produtora," Frias said [1].
The lawmaker's statements were made in response to audio recordings that suggested a different arrangement regarding the film's ownership and funding. Despite the existence of these recordings, Frias said that no corporate tie existed between the senator and the project.
"Não recebemos verba da Vorcaro para a produção de 'Dark Horse'," Frias said [1].
The dispute centers on whether the production of the biographical work served as a vehicle for undisclosed financial partnerships involving the senator. Frias said that the production remained independent of the senator's business interests.
“"Flávio não tem qualquer sociedade no filme ou na produtora."”
This denial attempts to sever a financial link between a high-profile political figure and a commercial production. By explicitly rejecting the involvement of Vorcaro, Frias is challenging the validity of leaked audio evidence and attempting to prevent a wider investigation into the senator's private financial dealings and their potential intersection with public office.
