Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for and dedicated development projects worth ₹14,700 crore [1] in Haryana this week.

The initiative aims to modernize regional infrastructure and transition the state toward green-energy transport to improve overall connectivity.

Among the primary transportation upgrades is the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway. This corridor is designed to reduce travel time and increase the efficiency of logistics moving through the region. The projects were launched alongside Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

A significant milestone in the announcement is the introduction of India's first hydrogen-powered train. The new rail service will operate between Jind and Sonipat, serving as a pilot for sustainable transit within the country.

Beyond transportation, the investment extends into the healthcare sector. The Prime Minister dedicated new medical colleges to the state to expand access to professional medical education, and patient care.

The comprehensive package of projects focuses on the areas of Jind, Sonipat, and the broader Delhi-Amritsar-Katra corridor. These investments are intended to boost the local economy by creating jobs and improving the movement of goods and people across the state.

This investment signals a strategic shift by the Indian government to integrate high-speed road corridors with sustainable rail technology. By combining the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway with a hydrogen-powered rail pilot, the administration is attempting to balance rapid industrial growth with carbon-reduction goals in one of the country's most critical economic hubs.
