Musician and entrepreneur Oluwatosin Ajibade, known as Mr Eazi, intends to list his businesses on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) [1, 2].

The move signals a shift toward formalizing the financial structures of his ventures and leveraging the domestic capital market to scale operations.

Ajibade said the plan during an interview on Wednesday [2]. He said the decision was inspired by the success of prominent Nigerian businessmen Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola, both of whom have successfully listed companies on the NGX [1, 2].

By seeking a public listing, the entrepreneur aims to follow the blueprint established by Nigeria's wealthiest individuals, using the exchange to increase transparency and access larger pools of capital [1]. The NGX serves as the primary hub for equity trading in Nigeria, providing a platform for companies to transition from private ownership to public shareholders.

Ajibade has expanded his portfolio beyond music into various business ventures. This strategic pivot toward the stock market suggests a long-term goal of institutionalizing his brands within the West African economy [1, 2].

Mr Eazi intends to list his businesses on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX).

This move reflects a growing trend of 'creative entrepreneurs' in Africa transitioning from entertainment-based revenue to institutional investment. By targeting the NGX, Ajibade is attempting to bridge the gap between the celebrity economy and traditional corporate finance, potentially encouraging other artists to seek public equity for their business ventures.
