Flash floods in Nepal have killed between 55 [1] and 98 [5] people and left more than 100 Indian tourists missing this month.

The flooding occurred in the Rasuwa district, specifically near Rasuwagadhi on the Nepal-China border. The resulting floods impacted the Trishuli, Chitwan, and Bhote Koshi rivers [1, 2].

Search and rescue efforts are focused on missing travelers, including a significant number of Indian nationals. Reports on the number of missing Indians range from over 103 [1] to 133 [2]. Among those unaccounted for are 50 tourists from Tamil Nadu [9].

The Nepal Army has deployed 15 helicopters [9] to conduct search and rescue operations in the rugged terrain. The Indian Air Force has also placed aircraft on standby to provide relief and support the recovery of its citizens.
