Nepalese rescue teams, supported by the Nepali army and the National Disaster Management Authority, are leading the operation. They are aided by experts from China, India, and Australia to reach workers buried in five hydropower projects, including sites in Chitwan [1, 3].

One report indicates that 500 workers are trapped in flood-proof structures [4], and another suggests 100 of 933 workers are believed to be alive [1].
Rescuers are currently drilling into the tunnels in an attempt to reach those remaining inside [2]. The operation involves navigating debris and floodwaters caused by the initial collapse [4, 5].
