The Nifty 50 index may advance toward 25,000 [2] after a possible retest of its 23,800 support level [1].
This outlook suggests a period of stability and growth for the Indian equity market. If the index holds its current support, it could signal a broader bullish trend for large-cap stocks and financial institutions.
Rohit Srivastava, the founder and strategist at strike_ic, said the Nifty 50 index may stay range-bound in the coming weeks. He said that the index is expected to hold above the 23,800 level [1], providing a foundation for a potential climb toward the 25,000 mark [2].
Beyond the primary index, the Bank Nifty is also expected to see significant movement. Srivastava said the Bank Nifty may target 61,000 [2]. This projection is driven by strong fundamentals within the banking sector, specifically among large private-sector banks.
Srivastava said that large private-sector banks are expected to outperform public sector unit (PSU) banks. This divergence in performance is attributed to improving market sentiment and the robust structural health of private lenders.
Investors are advised to look for opportunities during market dips. The constructive outlook for the sector suggests that temporary volatility may provide entry points for long-term positions in the equity market.
“The Nifty 50 index may advance toward 25,000”
The projection indicates a preference for private banking over state-run entities, suggesting that investors are prioritizing efficiency and growth fundamentals over government-backed stability. A successful hold at the 23,800 support level would confirm a bullish sentiment, potentially attracting more domestic and foreign institutional investment into Indian large-cap equities.
