Abdullah spoke from Srinagar regarding the events of July 20, 2024 [1], when authorities carried out a crackdown on protesters at Jantar Mantar. He said that the primary purpose of a legislative body is to address the concerns raised by the opposition.
"If the Union Home Minister is going to address the concerns and issues raised by the opposition in Parliament, then that's good," Abdullah said. "That is what Parliament or any assembly is meant for."
Abdullah said that if the Home Minister addresses these issues, it could facilitate the resumption of parliamentary business. He emphasized the importance of maintaining peaceful demonstrations while ensuring that the government remains accountable to the legislature.
