Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has awarded major offshore contracts to L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore for projects along India's west coast.

These agreements signal a critical effort to modernize India's energy infrastructure by replacing aging systems and expanding extraction capabilities. The scale of the investment underscores the strategic priority of maintaining steady domestic oil and gas production.

The contracts cover engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) services [2]. Specifically, the work involves the Pipeline Replacement Project, known as PRP-X, and the Well Head Platforms Project [2]. These initiatives are designed to address the degradation of existing pipelines and establish new platforms to facilitate efficient resource recovery [3].

Financial estimates for the orders range between ₹5,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore [3]. L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore, the specialized offshore business arm of Larsen & Toubro, secured the work based on its capacity to provide integrated EPCIC solutions [3].

The projects will be executed at various offshore locations situated along the western coastline of India [4]. By upgrading the PRP-X infrastructure, ONGC aims to reduce the risk of leaks and operational failures associated with older pipeline networks [3].

Larsen & Toubro has a long history of executing large-scale energy projects in the region. The current partnership focuses on the technical requirements of deep-water and shallow-water environments to ensure the stability of the new well-head platforms [4].

The contracts are valued between ₹5,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore.
