Prince Edward Island has trained 30 officials [1] to operate emergency reception centres ahead of the Atlantic hurricane season peak.

The training program included Emergency Measures Director Jason Thistle and other provincial staff. These officials were prepared to manage the logistics of reception centres, which serve as critical hubs for Islanders displaced by weather events or those lacking power in their homes.
