Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Members of Parliament from Assam to review worsening flood conditions and coordinate central government relief efforts.
The meeting comes as severe flooding disrupts multiple districts, requiring urgent federal intervention to manage rehabilitation and provide immediate aid to displaced populations.
During the review, Modi met with representatives including Sarbananda Sonowal to assess the scale of the disaster. The Prime Minister said the central government would provide the necessary resources for relief and rehabilitation in the affected regions.

The current crisis has impacted six districts [2]. According to reports, approximately 4.45 lakh people have been affected by the flooding [1]. The situation is particularly critical in areas like Sivasagar, where conditions have continued to deteriorate.
Central authorities are now coordinating with state officials to ensure that assistance reaches the most vulnerable populations. The focus of the current operation remains on stabilizing the affected districts, and implementing long-term rehabilitation strategies to mitigate future flood damage.
