People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk urged citizens to vote to judge soaring inflation and housing prices during a tour of several cities today.
The campaign push emphasizes the economic frustrations of voters and frames the election as a critical barrier against constitutional shifts and political instability.
Jang traveled to Sejong City and the Gyeonggi-province cities of Bucheon, Gwangmyeong, and Gimpo on the first day of early voting [1]. He said the current political climate is the Republic of Korea standing on the brink of a cliff [1].
According to Jang, the election is necessary to stop rising prices and curb what he called a dictatorial regime that would control even coffee purchases [1]. He said the vote would prevent the collapse of the breakwater protecting the nation from mass criminal-case dismissals and constitutional changes [1].
Jang highlighted the precarious nature of the race, noting that at least four constituencies are in a close race that could determine the overall election outcome [1].
"Even a loss by a single vote is a defeat," Jang said [1]. "Please protect it with your lives. It depends on your one vote" [1].
The leader's tour focused on mobilizing voters in key urban centers to ensure the party maintains its grip on the legislative landscape and prevents a shift toward the opposition's policy goals [1].
“Save the Republic of Korea standing on the brink of a cliff”
By framing the election as a referendum on inflation and housing, the People Power Party is attempting to pivot the political conversation toward immediate economic grievances. This strategy seeks to mobilize a base concerned with cost-of-living increases while painting the opposition as a threat to constitutional order and personal liberties.
