Pune police allege that a woman and her associate plotted to murder a businessman before pushing him into a gorge at Lohagad Fort.

This investigation highlights how digital evidence and surveillance footage can dismantle a planned crime, transforming a potential accident into a premeditated murder case.

Authorities identified the suspects as 20-year-old Siya Goyal [3] and 22-year-old Chetan Chaudhary [4]. Police allege the pair orchestrated a conspiracy to eliminate Ketan Agarwal, a businessman whose age is reported between 25 [2] and 26 [1].

CCTV footage from a café in Kondhwa, Pune, captured Goyal and Chaudhary meeting June 17, 2026 [6]. A Pune Police spokesperson said, "Siya and Chetan discussed the alleged plot at a cafe a day before Ketan died" [7].

The following day, June 18, 2026 [8], Agarwal died after being pushed 400 feet into a gorge at Lohagad Fort [5]. Police are now working to reconstruct the crime scene to determine exactly how the act was carried out.

Investigators have questioned seven people as part of the ongoing probe [9]. The investigation gained momentum after a viral Instagram tribute allegedly helped unravel the plot.

Vikram Singh said, "Digital trail may be the key evidence" [10]. Police continue to analyze the electronic footprints of the suspects to establish a timeline of the conspiracy.

"Siya and Chetan discussed the alleged plot at a cafe a day before Ketan died,"

The transition of this case from a suspected accidental fall to a premeditated murder underscores the increasing reliance of Indian law enforcement on 'digital trails.' By linking timestamped CCTV footage from a commercial establishment to the physical location of the crime, investigators can establish intent and conspiracy, which are critical for securing higher charges in homicide cases.
