Purple Style Labs Ltd. opened its initial public offering today with a price band set between ₹546 and ₹575 per share [1].
The move allows the company to access public capital to stabilize its balance sheet and accelerate its retail footprint in India. By raising these funds, the company aims to reduce its reliance on high-cost debt and scale its operations.
The company intends to raise a total of ₹680 crore [1]. A significant portion of these proceeds is earmarked for financial obligations, with ₹370 crore designated to pay lease liabilities [3]. This strategy addresses a cost of debt that currently sits at approximately 15 to 17 percent [5].
Beyond debt settlement, Purple Style Labs has allocated ₹130 crore for marketing expenses [4]. The remaining funds will support retail expansion and the evaluation of new store performances during FY27 [6].
Led by Whole-time Director and CEO Abhishek Agarwal, the company operates as the parent entity of Pernia's Pop-Up Studio [7]. The subscription period for the IPO began on Aug. 31 and will remain open until Sept. 2 [2].
The company is listing on Indian stock exchanges to facilitate this capital injection. The timing of the offering aligns with the company's broader goal of expanding its physical presence while managing the overhead associated with its luxury retail model.
“Purple Style Labs intends to raise a total of ₹680 crore.”
The allocation of over half the raised capital toward lease liabilities suggests a strategic shift toward reducing fixed financial burdens. By replacing high-interest debt with equity, Purple Style Labs is attempting to improve its long-term solvency while simultaneously funding the aggressive marketing and physical expansion required to compete in the luxury fashion sector.
