Construction of the Regiotram de Occidente rail system has reached 42% completion [1], Governor Jorge Emilio Rey said.

Governor Rey provided an update on the progress of the maintenance yard in Facatativá, a key component of the infrastructure. The rail corridor will connect the municipalities of Facatativá, Madrid, and Mosquera with the capital city, extending as far as the Fontibón district [4].

Officials expect the section reaching Fontibón to be delivered by the end of 2027 [2]. The broader system is scheduled to enter full operation during the second half of 2027 [3].

Recent reports indicate a push to accelerate the timeline. An agreement allows for the opening of 10 new construction fronts this year [5]. While some reports suggest that 26 kilometers of the planned 40 kilometers have been constructed [4], the governor's office cites the 42% figure for general progress [1].

Energy infrastructure for the line is already partially active. An electrical substation in Facatativá has entered operation, with 30% of its total capacity currently sufficient to guarantee 100% of the trains' operational needs [6].
