Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and the Knight Riders Group unveiled the Knight Riders Cricket Ground in the Los Angeles area on Saturday.
The development marks a significant expansion of cricket infrastructure in the U.S. as the sport prepares for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics [1]. By providing an international-standard venue, the project seeks to support the growth of Major League Cricket and establish a permanent hub for the game on the West Coast.
Located in Pomona, California, the stadium was developed by the Knight Riders Group in collaboration with Major League Cricket. The facility is designed to meet global standards for professional play, offering a dedicated space for high-level competition in a region where such venues have historically been scarce.
"What started as a dream… turns into reality today," Khan said.
During the unveiling, Khan expressed gratitude toward international cricket leadership for their cooperation in bringing the project to fruition. "Thanks to Jay Shah and the ICC for their support," Khan said.
The event was attended by the actor's family, including Gauri Khan, who highlighted the personal significance of the achievement. "I am so proud of my husband for unveiling this stadium," Gauri Khan said.
The Knight Riders Group has focused on creating a world-class environment that can accommodate both professional matches, and community engagement. This strategic investment aligns with the broader goal of increasing the sport's visibility and accessibility within the United States before the Olympic Games arrive in 2028 [1].

The establishment of a dedicated, international-standard facility in California represents a shift from cricket being a niche community activity to a commercially backed professional sport in the U.S. With the 2028 Olympics acting as a catalyst, the Knight Riders Group is positioning itself to capitalize on the growing South Asian diaspora and the increasing American interest in T20 cricket.
