House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said that the modern Democratic Party's progressive and socialist policies threaten American families and law enforcement.

Johnson made the comments during an interview on Fox News and in posts shared on X during the third day [1] of the federal government shutdown. He said the Democratic Party is becoming a dangerous force that threatens American families.
According to Johnson, Democratic socialists are a serious threat to the whole system of government. He said policies that provide resources to illegal immigrants and the expansion of progressive criminal-justice reforms undermine family stability and the prison system.
Johnson also addressed the rise of a specific political archetype in his critique. He said, "We’re seeing ‘mini Mamdanis’ popping up across the country – a vicious plan against the Trump family and America."
