Nintendo has released a guide detailing 18 [1] key tips and mechanics for players entering Splatoon Raiders on the Nintendo Switch.
The new title shifts the franchise's focus by integrating single-player and cooperative modes. These additions change how players interact with the game world, introducing roguelite elements and a new approach to gear customization.
A primary change involves the weapon system. Sub-weapons are no longer tied to primary weapons, which allows players to mix and match different types together and with their main weapon, the Polygon editorial team said.
Players must also navigate new gameplay features such as the Bot Buddy and Huge Crystal raids. These mechanics are designed to assist both new and veteran players in understanding the game's treasure-hunting objectives.
Multiplayer options have expanded to support cooperative play alongside the story mode, an MSN gaming correspondent said. This allows for a more flexible experience through matchmaking and friends-based co-op.
The game's intensity has been noted by critics. "My wrists are sore from how much Splatoon Raiders I’ve been playing," an IGN reviewer said in a Yahoo Tech article.
The 18 [1] points outlined in the guide serve as a foundation for mastering the game's updated systems. By decoupling equipment and adding cooperative raids, Nintendo is moving the series toward a more versatile combat loop.
“Sub-weapons aren't tied to primary weapons anymore”
The shift toward roguelite elements and decoupled weapon systems suggests Nintendo is attempting to increase the replayability and strategic depth of the Splatoon series. By emphasizing co-op and single-player modes over purely competitive multiplayer, the developer is broadening the game's appeal to a wider audience of Switch users.
