Standard Chartered has initiated coverage of Chainlink with a price target of $200 by the end of 2030 [1, 2, 3].
The forecast signals a growing institutional belief that blockchain technology will move beyond speculative trading into the management of tangible global assets. If realized, this shift would position oracle services as critical infrastructure for the modern financial system.
Geoff Kendrick, the global head of digital assets research at Standard Chartered, based the projection on the anticipated growth of tokenized real-world assets [1, 2, 3]. The bank expects this specific market to reach a valuation of $4 trillion [5]. Because these tokenized assets require reliable external data to function on a blockchain, the bank expects a surge in demand for Chainlink's oracle solutions [3, 6].
At the time of the note, the price of LINK was $8.25 [2]. Reaching the $200 target would represent a 2,300% upside [4]. While some reports describe this as a 25-fold increase [3], other analyses suggest a 24-fold jump [7].
This valuation is part of a broader bullish outlook on decentralized finance. Standard Chartered provided a growth forecast for the DeFi sector of 37x [2]. The bank said that Chainlink is positioned to "own the rails" of this transition by providing the necessary connectivity between traditional financial data and blockchain smart contracts [1].
Institutional adoption of real-world asset tokenization involves converting ownership of physical assets, such as real estate or commodities, into digital tokens. This process requires high-fidelity data feeds to ensure the digital token accurately reflects the value and status of the physical asset. Chainlink provides these feeds, making it a primary beneficiary of the projected $4 trillion market [3, 6].
“Standard Chartered sees LINK at $200 by 2030”
This projection highlights a strategic shift in how institutional banks view 'oracle' tokens. Rather than treating them as volatile cryptocurrencies, Standard Chartered is valuing Chainlink as a utility provider for the tokenization of global finance. The $200 target is contingent on the successful migration of trillions of dollars in traditional assets to the blockchain, meaning the token's value is now being tied directly to the adoption rate of institutional RWA (Real World Asset) frameworks.
