Gunma Prefectural Police are investigating the death of a woman found bloodied in a Takasaki City parking lot on Wednesday morning [1].

The incident has prompted a homicide investigation in the Asahi-machi district, where authorities discovered a potential weapon at the scene [2].

Emergency services received a 110 call around 3 a.m. to 3:15 a.m. [1] reporting that a woman was involved in a dispute with a male acquaintance. When officers arrived at the parking lot, they found a woman, estimated to be in her 10s or 20s [1], lying unconscious and covered in blood.

"A blood-stained woman in her 10s to 20s was lying in an unconscious state," a Gunma Prefectural Police spokesperson said [1].

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. According to reports, she died approximately one hour after her discovery [3].

Investigators searched the immediate area of the parking lot and located a sharp object. "A knife-like object, believed to be the weapon, was lying in the parking lot at the scene," the police spokesperson said [4].

Police are currently treating the case as a murder. While the initial emergency call mentioned a dispute between the victim and a male acquaintance [3], officials have not yet disclosed a specific motive, or named a suspect. The identity of the woman has not been released as the investigation continues.

"A blood-stained woman in her 10s to 20s was lying in an unconscious state,"

The discovery of a potential weapon and the initial report of a domestic or interpersonal dispute suggest the killing was not a random act of violence. The focus of the investigation will likely center on the male acquaintance mentioned in the emergency call to establish a timeline and motive.
