Taylor Fresh Foods, also known as Taylor Farms, is voluntarily recalling shredded iceberg lettuce sold across 27 U.S. states [2].
The recall comes amid a nationwide outbreak of cyclosporiasis, a parasitic infection that has sickened more than 1,600 people [1]. Because the product reached a wide range of distributors and consumers, the recall aims to prevent further illness.
The company issued the recall notice on Saturday, July 18, 2026 [4]. The affected shredded iceberg lettuce was sourced from central Mexico and sold between June 29 and July 16, 2026 [3].
Distribution of the lettuce reached 27 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, and Kentucky [2].
Confusion surfaced regarding the testing of the produce. The Food and Drug Administration initially reported a positive test for the Cyclospora parasite in the Taylor Farms lettuce [5]. However, the agency later said that the test result was a false-positive [5].
Despite the corrected test result, the voluntary recall remains in effect to ensure public safety during the ongoing outbreak.
