President Donald Trump said a newly delivered Air Force One jet gifted by Qatar requires security upgrades before it can be used for travel.

Speaking Sunday, July 19, 2024, at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, Trump said the aircraft will undergo a series of enhancements. He said the jet was a gift from Qatar and will need one month of upgrades [1] to meet security standards.
"We will get it maxed out," Trump said.
The president said the aircraft's systems need additional work to ensure the safety of the executive branch while in flight. The process of "maxing out" the jet involves integrating specific U.S. security protocols into the existing framework of the Qatari-gifted plane.
