Radhan Pandit, a spokesperson for Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), said the party will win between 140 and 170 seats [1] in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election.

The projection suggests a historic shift in power if the party secures a majority, potentially installing TVK leader Vijay as the state's chief minister.

Pandit made the statements in Chennai on April 29, 2026, approximately 108 hours [3] before the scheduled vote counting. He said the party is ignoring external exit polls in favor of their own internal data.

"We are just ignoring these exit polls. I am sure we are going to sweep this election by above 170 or above 140," Pandit said.

According to Pandit, a personal survey conducted by the party indicates a minimum of 45% [2] vote-banking. He said this figure contradicts other projections that place the party's support between 20% and 25% [2].

Pandit expressed confidence that the party's victory would be immediate and decisive. He said that in the 109th hour, immediately following the 108-hour wait for counting, Vijay would take the oath of office [3].

However, these internal projections contrast with other exit poll data. While TVK anticipates a sweep, separate exit poll reporting indicates a majority for the DMK-led bloc, with M.K. Stalin expected to win.

"Our Vijay will become the Chief Minister."

The discrepancy between TVK's internal surveys and external exit polls highlights a high-stakes conflict in voter data. If TVK's 45% vote-banking claim is accurate, it would represent a massive political realignment in Tamil Nadu; however, the prevailing external data suggests the DMK remains the dominant force.
