Usha Mangeshkar said she feels lonely and sad at home after the deaths of her elder sisters, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.
The loss of the two vocalists marks the end of an era for Indian music, as the sisters were central figures in the country's cinematic and cultural history.
Speaking at an event in Mumbai, Mangeshkar said she feels grief regarding the recent death of Asha Bhosle, who died on 11 April 2026 [2]. Bhosle was 92 years old [1] at the time of her death. While some reports cited natural causes, other sources said she died due to exhaustion and chest infection [3].
"I feel lonely and sad at home after losing my sisters," Mangeshkar said [4].
This loss follows the earlier death of Lata Mangeshkar, who died on 6 February 2022 [5]. Lata Mangeshkar was also 92 years old [5] when she died.
Mangeshkar reflected on the void left by both siblings during her appearance in Mumbai. "Now, even Ashadidi is gone," she said [6].
