Zara Larsson announced an all-women collaborative deluxe edition of her album “Midnight Sun” during Billboard’s Women in Music event in Los Angeles.

The project marks a significant artistic shift for the 28-year-old [1] singer, who intends the all-female lineup to serve as a statement on the empowerment of women within the music industry.

Larsson said the project is the biggest thing in her career yet. The record will feature 13 female artists [2]. While some reports describe the project as a deluxe edition of “Midnight Sun,” other sources refer to the upcoming EP as “Midnight Sun: Girls Trip.”

The announcement follows the success of the single “Midnight Sun,” which exploded in 2026 [1]. Larsson said the collaboration was inspired by Charli XCX.

Regarding the visual identity of the project, Larsson said, "On the album cover, I am channeling the birth of Venus, and, in a way, it does feel like a rebirth of me."

Release dates for the project vary by source. Some reports state the deluxe remix album is set for September 2025 [3], while others indicate the edition is upcoming without providing a specific date. This discrepancy suggests a potential shift in the production timeline or differing reporting on the release window.

"This is the biggest thing in my career yet."

By centering the deluxe edition of her album entirely on female collaborators, Larsson is positioning herself as a curator of female talent. This move aligns with a broader industry trend of high-profile pop artists using collaborative projects to build creative networks and signal artistic evolution through strategic partnerships.
