Amazon is offering same-day delivery and a $9 discount on Apple’s newly launched MacBook Neo [1, 2].
This move positions the e-commerce giant as a faster and cheaper alternative to Apple's own direct sales channels immediately following the device's launch. By leveraging its logistics network, Amazon aims to capture early adopters who prioritize immediate availability over the traditional retail experience.
The retailer is selling the 256 GB MacBook Neo in all four available colors [1, 3]. While some reports indicate same-day delivery is available in select U.S. locations [1, 2], other reports state that one-day delivery is available on all base models [4].
Price reductions for the base models include a $9 discount off the list price [1]. Earlier deal roundouts from late May listed base MacBook Neo models at $590 [4]. In other markets, such as India, the 256 GB model is priced at ₹61,900, and the 512 GB model at ₹69,990 [5].
In addition to the base 256 GB configuration, Amazon has a limited selection of 512 GB models available [1, 3]. The strategy allows Amazon to undercut Apple's store pricing while maintaining the same product guarantees [3].
The promotion was widely reported on June 3, following earlier mentions of deals in May [1, 4]. Amazon continues to use its Prime infrastructure to compete with Apple's hardware distribution, a tactic often seen with high-demand electronics releases.
“Amazon is offering same-day delivery and a $9 discount on Apple’s newly launched MacBook Neo.”
Amazon's decision to undercut Apple on price and shipping speed, even by a small margin, highlights the ongoing tension between hardware manufacturers and third-party retailers. By offering a $9 discount and same-day shipping, Amazon leverages its logistical superiority to divert traffic from the Apple Store, emphasizing convenience and cost-efficiency as primary drivers for consumer electronics purchases.
