Celebrations took place at the family residence of Vijay in Chennai, where Shoba Chandrasekhar said, "I am so happy."
S A Chandrasekhar, the father of the TVK chief, also joined the celebrations. He described Shoba Chandrasekhar as the first fan of Vijay and noted that his son wanted to do something for Tamil Nadu, he said.
Reports on the scale of the lead varied during the counting process. One report indicated that the party was leading in 110 of the 234 seats [1].
